My International Migratory Bird Day event in Washington, DC is right around the corner! All our planning and preparation is finally going to unfold. We are proud to say that we have worked together as a team and accomplished a great deal.
Outreach to the Latino media has been successful. We managed a radio interview and two articles in EL Tiempo Latino and El Pregonero. I hope that we are effective in our marketing of the event and that we get a great turn out of Latinos at our festival. This past week we continued canvasing and creating social media messages. A lot of organizations I have contacted such as Audubon Society of Northern Virginia and US Fish & Wildlife Services have been kind enough to help us advertise our event in their Twitter and Facebook sites. I am excited for our festival! Stayed tuned to hear about how it went.
If you would like to attend the event it will be held at Rock Creek Park. IMBD at Rock Creek will feature guided bird walks, live raptor programs, children’s activities, performances from local schools as well as Latin American dance groups, a special planetarium program focusing on bird constellations, healthy Latin American food, and more. So if you live in the DC area come down and check it out! For more information please see our website here
