Natural Inquirer is a journal create to share high level scientific research findings in a way that middle school students students can understand and value. The articles are available thanks to the help of scientists in the USDA Forest Service that develop research with the goal of “caring for the land and its people”. Research topics presented in journal articles are related to topics such as nature, trees, wildlife, insects, outdoor activities and water. Also, students have the opportunity to meet scientists through their biographies.
This journal is a free resource and is available in English and Spanish. It can be downloaded directly from the Natural Inquirer website (http://www.naturalinquirer.org/Spanish-Editions-Available-v-88.html) and orders for hard copies for schools and nature activities can be made by phone.
The Natural Inquirer journal is a great way to engage and motivate young students to engage in environmnetal stewardship and encourage them to follow careers in conservation fields.
