Hola. Aloha. Hi there everyone! My name is Ariana Pacheco, I was born and raised in beautiful Santa Cruz, California. I am absolutely in love with being outside, in the mountains or in the ocean, rain or shine!
I first left Santa Cruz to go to college at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Although the town is wonderful, I felt the school was not for me. My boyfriend and I then moved to Maui and went to school for a year. What a great experience that was. I did an internship at the Maui Ocean Center and got to swim with 22 sharks, including two tiger sharks! I also got involved in helping stranded or injured turtles, as well as patrolling the beaches while monitoring turtle nests to make sure the adorable little hatchlings make it safely to the ocean. Unfortunately living and going to school there was too expensive, so we came back home to Santa Cruz and I went to Cabrillo College. I eventually transferred to UCSC where I will be finishing my degree in Marine Biology and will finally be graduating this March, right before my birthday :).
I believe conservation is the key to a beautiful planet with diverse ecosystems, plants and animals. Many people are unaware of the issues going on and I am so excited to help inform others so that our planet can stay beautiful. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to work with EFTA and I look forward to starting this new chapter of my life!
