This week was filled with many beautiful birds, from least and western sandpipers to black-bellied plovers and Black Oystercatchers – not to mention lots of cute otters too. My shorebird surveys are about to get started and I can’t wait, although I am a little nervous and intimidated to be out there alone. Good thing there are so many great teachers and mentors to help me along the way.
The tides have not been in my favor recently, but a few extra perks to this sites (besides the wonderful birds) will include sitings of manta rays as well as leopard sharks, woo! I am ready to put my skills to the test.
