Where the freshwater meets the ocean, Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Reserve. Today was a nice and warm, sunny day spent at Elkhorn Slough refreshing my bird ID memory. (What’s the one in the picture?!) I have visited Elkhorn Slough many times, however I have never seen it through the eyes of a birder. How marvelous. There were many more different species of birds that use the Slough than I thought, and each so beautiful in its own way.

Oh, and while I was wearing an IMBD shirt a man in the grocery store said I had a great shirt and we struck up a small conversation about it!
