What’s in a Bird?
Today I discovered a Great Horned Owl in the middle of the day in my neighborhood. Before the internship, I may not have even taken the time to look up into the trees. My boyfriend was biking right in front of me and biked right past it. That would have been me before the internship. Looking towards the ground, and ignoring all the birds right above me. But I have changed. And I feel more confident in my birding skills. I do not have the empty feeling of hopelessness and confusion when I look at a bird guide. I would like to invoke the birder in everyone, so that they can see how many different birds surround them, and to just look up every once in a while.
