This will likely be my final post in Alaska. Finally, back inside after the rain.
Only a week is left on this trip. I can’t possibly begin to explain how amazing it has been. Right now I have two quarters to my name, and a home excited to see me again – but I wouldn’t trade being here for anything.
I’m in Anchorage again. I spent the last week on the Kenai Peninsula. Being a boat tripper on the Kenai River, going on bird walks with experts, and giving a presentation for the kids was a lot of fun. The Bird Festivals have been great fun, and have taught me so much about birds.
I’ve really gotten to see so much of Alaska on the trip. Not only that, but I’ve gotten to do it while being useful and learning, doing field research with nest boxes, bird counts, mist netting, outreach on the importance of protecting birds, and making tons of friends. And then there was Denali. I finally got to make it to Denali, which has been a core goal for me this entire trip.
This trip has been everything. I really can’t find the words to express how thankful and excited I am about all of it. It might just be the greatest experience of my life.
