I’ve been in Alaska for all of 20 hours. I’ve seen my first bear, my first glacier, roped off and placed signs for Arctic Tern nesting area protection, seen my first Surf Scoters, tasted five different Alaskan beers, had locally roasted coffees, given a short presentation, and done a live interview for the local radio station. It’s been incredible. I’m genuinely tuckered out, but all I want to do is more!
And the scenery! The air is so crisp. The water is so clear in all its shades of blue! The new fallen snow on the mountains is so perfect! Ahh, I want to live here. You should have seen that rock I skipped today. Such a clean 15+ skip sliding to a finish, just demanding I call that lake home.
