What a wonderful week Team Bug had. We not only started the week off with an early morning Southwestern Willow Flycatcher survey, but we also had the amazing opportunity to meet David Sibley, the author of many North American bird guides. He is well known throughout the U.S., as well as in many other countries. The Bureau of Land Management provided David with a tour of Blanca Wetlands, where we were able to meet this amazing individual. Followed by his surprise visit to the Valley, we were able to meet many other birders from all over the U.S. WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!
After the tour with Mr. Sibley ended, the team was offered an opportunity to explore Baca National Wildlife Refuge with the Regional Refuge Biologist, who is in charge of all of Colorado, Kansas, Wyoming, and Utah. The day was full of energy and amazing opportunities to meet individuals who are very successful.
