This week, Eddie and I had the opportunity to meet with the State Director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), as she talked about the new district reassignment occurring in Colorado. Beyond being able to talk to very important people involved the BLM in Colorado, I had a very inspiring moment.
Since the State Director was present, a couple of employees were awarded for their 30 years of service. First of all, how cool is it to have a job where you are making a difference for 30 years!! In that moment, I decided that this is something I would love to do. In my future I want to make a difference through my career, and if it goes on for over 30 years, then great!
I then asked how people got into these kind of positions, and the State Director told me something that will stick with me for a while. She said, “When you know that you have found something you want to do, stick to it, keep digging, and you will get to where you want to go.”
So, for know, I will find what I want to do. And, when I do, I will keep fighting and digging until I get where I want to go.
