Western Hummingbird Partnership Project Continued

What I “spotted” instead of a hummingbird

This week I tested some of the apps that we are considering using for our project. I went out to a trail to look for hummingbirds. The characteristics of hummingbirds that people love (small and fast-beating wings), are also the qualities that make it hard for me to find and photograph them. Also, the other aspect of our hummingbird project that we expect citizen scientists to do is to identify plants, which is a very difficult thing to do. So, we still have to work out the kinks with that. This is all still in the development stage, but it’s pretty cool to help set up such a big project. Stay tuned folks!
