Thursday marked the first day of our Longmont Inspire programs. We finally collected 200 surveys (half of our original goal), which means we can start our pilot programs. We started off with gardening at Growing Gardens in Longmont. The kids got to walk around the garden and pick some vegetables, look at bees, make a salad from the vegetables they picked, and get their hands dirty from worm poop while they looked for worms. The kids really enjoyed the program. I think the Longmont Inspire programs are going to be so fun, and it gives us a chance to get the kids outside. In the upcoming weeks the kids will get to go biking, hiking, birding, fishing, sailing, swimming, camping, and on a final trip to Rocky Mountain National Park.
