This Wednesday was the last Discovery Lab of the summer at the Tijuana Estuary. The theme for the event was animal adaptations, and how each animal has a unique outer “skin” to be able to live in their habitats. Anita and I were in charge of the craft table at the event, and provided the visitors with a variety of materials to use to create their own animal masks. The kids came up with some pretty interesting and very creative creatures at this station. It’s hard to believe that this event was the last one that Anita and I will be working at as interns this summer.
We still have one more guided bird walk to lead next Friday, and hopefully there will be more visitors than the one person we had attend this week’s hike.
