Well, believe it or not, the end is nearing. I have about a month left at my site and the clock is ticking. Ore Time has always been a funny concept to me, but these past few months have been slow moving yet fast paced. The end of this internship seemed so far away, but the time was going by more quickly than expected. However, no matter how I feel, the calendar does not lie and I see how close I am.
With that in mind, I keep getting the question from family and friends, “So what’s the next move?” As of right now, there is no solid answer, however I’m okay with that. I’ve always dealt with uncertainty pretty well and enjoy adventures. There is a bit more at stake with this next one, but that also means there is more to benefit from. Lately, I have been applying to jobs all over the DC area. I would love to work in environmental justice, or any other part of conservation. However, I am also open to new experiences because I know I can learn a lot of valuable skills in another field as well.
I’m young, a recent graduate, and willing to take risks. There’s a lot going on in this city, but hopefully, those things will take me far. I can’t say what it is just yet (because even I don’t know) but I will have a plan shortly; I can feel it. Although the next few months are a mystery, I know they are going to be worth it. I’ve had a wealth of jobs, but it’s time for my first long term one. I’m ready for the next chapter in my life and I want to share it with all the people who helped get me here. But for now I need to focus on my applications and finishing the last of my work at ECC. Stay tuned for exciting updates!!
