Hi everyone!

World Migratory Bird day has arrived! Our Birdfest is held in Leavenworth, which is about 40 minutes north of Wenatchee. The scenery in Leavenworth is so beautiful year round with its lush greenery and tall pines that cover the hills. It is no wonder that this is such a popular destination while visiting Washington State. During this event there are a variety of fun bird related events such as bird walks, hikes, and bird games for the children. Team Naturaleza and the Wenatchee River Institute partner every year to bring the event together.

One of the more popular activities was the bird mask making.

Working on a bird mask.

Coloring the bird mask his mom drew.

Showing off the finished mask!

These activities provide children the opportunity to express their creativity, while also learning about migratory birds and what we can do in our daily lives to help them. I am so glad that I get to be a part of this event where people from around the state come to see what Birdfest has to offer. Bird conservation really brings people together and that in and of itself, is a victory!

Fly by next week to see what Team Naturaleza is up to!

Thanks for reading!
